The Nokia 770 Internet Tablet
Manufacturers can often confuse the masses by making devices with names that are seemingly “hi-tech” and full of numbers, and worse those who are familiar with these devices usually use only the number and add to the confusion. Today I will give some info on the Nokia 770.
The Nokia 770 is seen here sitting in-between a ppc6700 and a Treo 700w. Despite it being from Nokia and in the company of top level phones, it is not a phone. It is a cross between modern PDA’s and laptops. Far more powerful than a PDA with a powerful processor and a trimmed down version of desktop linux. Far more portable than a laptop with features like instant on, pocketable size, and extreeme thinness. Its specialty is internet browsing over wifi or bluetooth connections. Although niether the 6700 or the 700w were able to support a bluetooth data link for the 770, it does have the longest built in wifi range of any device I have previously used. Although not the newest device by any means, it is still a potent solution for mobile computing.
