How Integrated is Too Integrated?
Sure, we have had the ability to check the Shadowmite Forum from places that defy conventional thought, and for years. Some of my personal favorite abnoxious locations to check the forum include a certain mountian top above Moab, Utah while riding a motorcycle, from the middle of the Mojavie desert, and my personal favorite, from an examination room during a medical appointment (needless to say the doc was not as impressed as you’d think), but did we ever think of the consequences? The New York Times explores these consequences. As Treos and Blackberries are handed out like high tech flapjacks to “enhance productivity” in the workforce, just how much is too much? Taking work home, and certainly into the bedroom, is a bad trend and certainly shouldnt be an object of contention in a relationship. Certainly human relationships can be rocky enough without adding problems like this. Perhaps this will lead to an “unwireing” trend, like vacations that focus on technological isolation, perhaps not. Sure you can take my PDAPhone away from me, when you pry it from my cold dead hands. I for one will continue to surf the expanse of the internet from the strangest places on earth as long as my pdaphone’s TFT touchscreen glows with its pale light.
